As of January 24th there will be exactly 5 months until the first night of camp! In Lindenmere tradition we will all file into the rec hall for the first evening activity of the summer; The Counselor Variety Show. I can’t wait to write this year’s songs for the opening and closing numbers and I know the departments are going to create amazing acts to introduce themselves and their departments.
The night is sure to be a hit! Just like the counselor show we are keeping other great evening activities for this summer. Here are some questions to consider when thinking about this summer; which booth will your bunk have at Casino night, and more importantly how much money will you win towards the auction? Will you break a record this summer in book of records? Will you be able to remember which counselors are WANTED? Who will win Miss Lindenmere? Will our boat get across the pool in float or sink? What will your bunk dress up for in Halloween? How will pudding wrestling match up? How will your horse do in Night at the Races? Will Fall win two years in a row for Birthday Bash? Middle and Sr. campers will you escape Kangaroo Court? Who will be Gladiator for 2012? What will you wear to the Dances?
Hopefully those questions have gotten you even more excited for this summer. With each summer we try to think of new evening activities that you will all love. So here is sneak peak at some evening activities coming to you this summer! Have you seen the popular game show Minute to Win it? Start watching the show and learning the challenges because you never know which one your bunk might have to complete. Jr. and Middle camp, did you know there was gold all over camp? You will have to work as a bunk to get the most gold but watch out for the robbers, they are bound to give you a hard time. Each division this summer will have a Lip Sync night, you will work as bunk to create a routine, design costumes, and there will be a winner for each division. Some of you may have played the game called Steal the Bacon at school or in a sports practice, we are bringing the game to Lindenmere this summer with a huge five-foot ball!. Have you ever wanted to throw a pie in your counselors face, make your counselor do a belly flop, or dress them up silly for day? Well Counselor Revenge is your chance! Sr. Camp get out your dancing shoes because this summer you will be having a Dance-A-Thon! Most of you are probably familiar with Capture the Flag, but have you ever heard of Capture a Lindenmerian?
Just thinking of all these classic and new evening activities gets me excited for camp! I can’t wait to see how they turn out. Hopefully the next 5 months goes by quickly so we can all be together again!
