 Suessical the Musical
For campers in grades 1st through 7th we are happy to announce Seussical the Musical will be coming to the Lindenmere Theater for you! Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical the Musical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! All of your favorite Dr. Suess characters such as Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, the Whos, The Sour Kangaroo, JoJo and the Wickersham brothers are brought to life in this fun play. Let your imagination run wild as you meet characters from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. This story centers around the adventure Horton is faced with the challenge of not only protecting his tiny friend Jojo and the Who community which Horton discovers lives on a speck of dust but also protecting the abandoned egg from Lazy Mayzie. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant; in a story that makes you laugh and cry. More

Lindsay Carey Junior Girl’s Division Leader
Lindsay is excited to return to Lindenmere for her fourth summer and to join our leadership team as the Junior Girl’s Division Leader. Lindsay has spent the last three summers as our general counselor working with our youngest bunk of girls. After watching Lindsay interact with the girls and seeing the patience, and enthusiasm she has we know she will do great with all our Junior Girls. Lindsay recently became a nurse which has given her an even greater sense of compassion. With every summer she continues to bring passion and energy which is contagious for our campers and staff to be around and will ensure our Junior girls will be happy and well taken care of!

Only 114 days until I get up to camp (June 1). It will be here so quickly and of course I can’t wait. It’s been an incredibly smooth off-season and we are so excited about the summer of 2012. Three new tennis courts, a 5000 sq. ft. gymnastic pavilion and a new staff lounge for our incredible staff. To date, we have 85 staff members returning from last year and as we all know, a great staff leads to very happy kids. More
 Each year during the summer we evaluate all of our activity areas around camp and analyze how and what we can improve on to give our campers the best summer of their life. The thing about camp is that you only have 6 weeks to live it, get all of the information that you possibly can, make the appropriate notes and then you have the other 46 weeks to take that information and make it happen. As we have grown we have never wanted to sacrifice the amount of participation in our program areas. How do you combat that? Keep building new facilities! More
This year we have created a number of new positions around camp and also hired some new department heads as well. They are all so excited about camp that they wanted to write a little about themselves so that when our campers get to camp they know who they are.

As of January 24th there will be exactly 5 months until the first night of camp! In Lindenmere tradition we will all file into the rec hall for the first evening activity of the summer; The Counselor Variety Show. I can’t wait to write this year’s songs for the opening and closing numbers and I know the departments are going to create amazing acts to introduce themselves and their departments.

What better way to spend a Sunday morning than with all of your camp friends? On Sunday December 4th, we had our annual winter camp reunion at Space Odyssey. Our summer 2011 songs were playing in the background, the arcade was buzzing with excitement, our photo booth was set up and bowling and laser tag were ready, all we needed were our campers! At 10:00am our campers started walking through the doors and into the arms of their bunkmates and friends. Within minutes of arrivals campers were linked up with their friends, walking around, playing and laughing with each other. More

On Saturday October 15th we made our annual trip to camp for Fall Foliage and a beautiful fall weekend in the Poconos. It feels like we just left camp. There has already been such a change in scenery; colorful trees, warm fires being made in fireplaces, and seeing jeans, sweatshirts and boots instead of shorts, tee shirts and sandals. We all got up early Saturday morning to make the final preparations for the day, just like we know you all got up early anxious to see your friends, meet new friends, and come to your summer home. More

Only 260 days until Lindenmere 2012! It will be here so quickly. We are already off to a great start as so many staff members have already signed up for next summer and so many of our kids have re-enrolled for 2012. Our enrollment is currently 12% ahead of last year so that’s a great sign that so many kids loved camp. More
