Mitch’s Corner

Mitch's CornerDear Campers, Parents and Family,
Only 114 days until I get up to camp (June 1).  It will be here so quickly and of course I can’t wait.  It’s been an incredibly smooth off-season and we are so excited about the summer of 2012.  Three new tennis courts, a 5000 sq. ft. gymnastic pavilion and a new staff lounge for our incredible staff.  To date, we have 85 staff members returning from last year and as we all know, a great staff leads to very happy kids. As we approach the final leg of the Holiday season…the big Shabang…Christmas and Hanukkah, I feel compelled to give all Lindenmere Kids and Staff a little Friday Nite Campfire “Speech”, (even if you are not reading this on a Friday). More

WOW it’s already February!! Although I’m a big believer in living in the present and making the most out of today, I can’t stop thinking about this summer coming up. As all of you, I just love the summer and love being at Camp. More

With the cold temperatures and snow at camp it seems like spring/summer will never get here. Johnny, Pam, Brandon and Cindy are lucky enough to be at camp all year long. More

WOW, what a summer!!!  I love camp so and miss every one of you.  Like I said at a campfire. camp is never over as your memories and friends are still with you.  Camp Lives On!!!.

Yes, those memories.  They always make me smile.   Like walking bunks to the Lake House and giving my typical “Okay, we are here” when we reach the boating shed.  Hey, it makes me laugh so get ready, you will be hearing it every time we walk down there next summer.  Then the walk on “the path” and cold watermelon.  But nothing was as good as the scary stories and my yells to get you to SCREAM!!!

Camp Lives On!!! I loved watching you all get off the buses after a trip and your faces after a “fake break” and making pizza for you in the canteen and waking up every boys’ bunk every morning with  “boys, I have great news, I repeat great news!!!”  And making you watch the train go around the track in the canteen and hearing “attention on camp, attention on camp” and watching you dance to “we no speak Americano” (which will be played over and over every year) or do the chicken dance and hiking with Mitch where you make taffy and teaching you who the first president was (Abraham Lincoln) and that 1 + 1 = 3, and watch each and everyone of you laughing, holding hands, smiling that camp smile and growing as individuals, becoming stronger every day.  My list could fill 100 pages and it’s all stored and used over and over in my head.  Use your beautiful memories everyday and let CAMP LIVE ON!!!

With Love,
Mitch
