Going Green & Social Media

In an effort to keep up with technology and the current times, we have several new things to tell you about! All of these changes will make it even more important that we have your updated email address correct in campminder. Please log in and make sure we have all appropriate contact information including all email addresses.

1. We will no longer be sending newsletters home. The newsletters will be replaced with a more often updated Blog! On or about October 1st, 2010 you will be able to find the link for the Blog on the bottom of our homepage at www.camplindenmere.com. This will allow us to keep you updated about all of the happenings at Lindenmere on a more regular basis.

2. We will also have a Camp Lindenmere Facebook fan page launched by October 1st! The Camp Lindenmere Facebook fan page will be a safe and welcome place for all of our campers, staff and alumni to post pictures, memories and thoughts of past and current summers. We will also make special announcements and give updates on the Facebook page.

3. We will no longer be sending out mailings throughout the year. All of the forms and letters that we had previously mailed home will now be on our website and will be downloadable in PDF format. As a reminder, we will send and email to you regarding these forms about a month before they are due.

The Internet & Camp

Social networking sites, such as Facebook, can be a positive way to stay in touch with camp friends; however, if used incorrectly, it can be harmful to others.

Please think carefully if you write/post anything online when it comes to your experiences about camp, as anything you post can be read by the camp community and the general public and may impact us and our camp’s reputation. Remember that anything you put on the Internet is there forever.

Please be sure to check your child’s Facebook profile regularly for any inappropriate information, pictures, language, etc. (this includes things others may have written on her wall, as well as photos that have been posted).

We appreciate your efforts to help make the off-season communication between our campers as positive as possible.
